WHEATaKIT DNA Detection kit

Cereal composition is a key factor in the quality and safety of food and feed. In particular, durum wheat is considered the election wheat to make pasta, given its unique properties like relatively high yellow pigment content and high protein content favourable for good cooking quality. Because of the possibility of accidental contamination occurring during either wheat harvest or storage and transport of grains and semolina, pasta is only officially regarded as impure when the common wheat level exceeds 3%, as stipulated by the European Commission regulation (1222/94, EC 1994). WHEATaKIT DNA Detection Kit, fully developed in the company research centre, allows the quantitative detection in samples like flour, semolina and pasta of common wheat “Triticum aestivum” DNA in durum wheat “Triticum turgidum” DNA with a sensibility up to 0.2% of Triticum aestivum in Triticum turgidum.

Gluten Alert Sticks

InCura presents GlutenAlert Sticks, immunochromatographic rapid test for the semi-quantitative detection of immunotoxic gluten in raw and cooked foodstuffs and on surfaces. Ideal tools to monitor food producing and for the implementation and the fulfilment of HACCP, the test, based on G12 monoclonal antibody, is able to determine the concentration of gluten up to a minimum threshold of detection of approximately 3 ppm.

Among Biological Hazards reported trough the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed of European Community, the notifications of parasitic infestation with Anisakis of fish are increasing. The consequential risk from the ingestion of fish and fish-derived products infected by nematodes belonging to Anisakidae family is not only cause of serious gastrointestinal pathologies, but it pose risk for allergic reactions. In this background InCura presents Anisakids PCR Real Time kit for the qualitative detection of Anisakis spp. and Pseudoterranova spp. DNA in fish and fish-derived products (including baby food) where the visual identification of the nematode results difficult (EC Directive N. 853/2004 ).
